Stack and Whack Quilts & a Giveaway

Welcome to this week's Linky Party!

The theme this week is Stack & Whack (S&W) Quilts. According to Quilt Block of the Month Glossary, a “Stack and Whack Quilt is one where blocks of fabric are stacked on top of each other so that the patterns are aligned, then they are cut in such a way that when pieced together properly, the sewn blocks will form a kaleidoscope pattern.” This is one kind of stack & whack quilt. Other S&W quilts are made by stacking, whacking and shuffling any number of fabrics to make unique and diverse blocks.

Please enter your name and a link to your blog or a picture in Flickr.  If you don't have a blog or a Flickr account, email me (hputi01@gmail.com) a picture of your quilt and a brief write-up and I will post it on my blog page called Members' Quilts.

Link up your quilts or blocks (you may enter more than once) using Mister Linky below and do visit as many of the other links as you can.  You will get some great ideas and may even find new followers and/or blogs to follow.

At the end of each month, all linky entries for that month will be tallied and one lucky winner will receive a charm pack of 20 (5") scrappy squares!  The monthly giveaway is open to residents within and outside the United States.

Be sure to check back each week to participate in a different quilt theme.

  1. I made this quilt for my son. It is a stack and whack, but unfortunately, I used Paula Nadelstern's method of tracing onto a template and then cutting them out. Took ages!

    1. Thanks for sharing your quilt with us, Vanita. I'm assuming Oriental Kaleidoscope is the S&W quilt you wished to feature here. It's lovely!
